They've said it a few times now. It is coming. It is a Code Fix, so not something they can just hotfix. It will have to be a PSN Update, albeit a small one. Which likely means it has to go to Sony first.
A cursory search on the matter will reveal all of this information, and more.
I also hardly see how they are ignoring the issue, with the big bloody sticky that was up the top with constant dev interaction in it. One of the places the info about the fix was posted, funnily enough. |

I also hardly see how they are ignoring the issue, with the big bloody sticky that was up the top with constant dev interaction in it. One of the places the info about the fix was posted, funnily enough. And they claimed to have "fixed" the issues in a recent hotfix. We're making sure they know it sure as hell wasn't fix and there is a lot more work needed to correct these aiming controls. I know about the sticky that came our shortly after Uprising, but they have claimed to have made fixes since then. We want to make sure they know none of it worked and they need to try again, not sit on it.
I really don't know how much clearer I can be....
They said, in that thread, that there were some tweaks made, but that the real issue was a code fix, and no tweaks would fix that. They said the code fix will be out ASAP. It is *not* something they can fix in a hotfix/tweak, they said so themselves. I believe it was CCP Wolfman who said it, *may* have been Cmdr Wang. It was also confirmed to me on IRC by CCP Blam! and CCP Nothin, but that is neither here nor there.
The only assuming I am doing, is that the code fix has to go through Sony first, as with all Engine Updates. This, honestly, is probably what is taking the longest, and is not really in CCP's hands how long that takes. Though they can bug Sony about it, which I am sure they are doing anyway. |

Sephirian Fair wrote:I don't mean to argue with you, but CCP has not stated such information in any area that is openly available and easily accessible. Anything stated from IRC is taken with a grain of salt and as such isn't a reliable source of information to go on. There also isn't anything code specific mentioned in the Aiming Stick in the feedback/requests forum.
If you have a link to the source of the code fix, please post it hear. Either way, I believe we are being fair in our irritation towards CCP concerning this issue.
I am not trying to argue either, I am simply stating fact. They really have, in that exact thread. Twice infact.

CCP Wolfman wrote:* After some investigation we discovered that the sensitivity input curve being used by the mouse was incorrect. Despite new settings being present they were not being used. This issue requires a code update to fix and that is something we are working on as we speak. We will let you know when that is ready (this issue does not effect DS3 users).
* Related to that we found a bug with the mouse sensitivity input curve that is being used which resulted in some weird spikes when changing sensitivity. This occurs at settings of 20 and 100 and will be fixed once the above issue has been.

CCP Wolfman wrote:*We are currently tuning the input curve giving you a greater degree of control over fine aiming with the DS3. We will be testing this internally and if we feel it is successful we will roll it out to you as soon as we can. More news on that when we have it.
*We know that some of you donGÇÖt like full input acceleration on the DS3, then again some players do. ItGÇÖs tricky to make everyone happy! We will look in to adding the option to disable it in a future update but that isnGÇÖt something we can add right now. Also, to clear up any misunderstanding, full input acceleration is not something weGÇÖve added this release, it was also present in the last build.
*We found the DS3 full input acceleration was being effected by the sensitivity settings meaning higher sensitivities would reach max rotation speed faster. This should not be the case now, it was fixed in the last update.
*We have a fix for a bug that prevented updated MKB sensitivity settings being read by the game. This means (once fixed) that the sensitivity spikes you have been experiencing on certain settings will be gone. It also means you will be playing with the correct settings which you have not been up until this point due to the bug. We hope to get this update to you in around a week. We will continue to make further improvements after that point and we will be looking forward to getting more feedback (and acting on it) once the update is out. In the meantime we will continue internal testing and let you know when you can expect us to roll out any new updates.
I did say which thread, and who posted it. They both came up from a simple search for CCP Wolfman. It is not exactly hidden information, and definitely *is* openly available and easily accessible. I only mentioned IRC as an additional, I did say it was really neither here nor there, and agree with the *grain of salt* on information coming from there alone, for sure. However, when they told me there, then it was posted by Wolfman not long after, I figured that was good enough for a cursory mention at least. |
